The Arts District project, which encompasses six city blocks in downtown Benton Harbor, involved extensive infrastructure improvements. These included replacing deteriorating underground utilities, burying overhead utility lines, installing energy efficient Relume LED lighting, constructing new roads, sidewalks and bike paths, and landscaping the area with trees and perennials. The $2.3 million project, which was completed on June 20, 2008.
